Day Tours London · South Kensington, London

Stonehenge in a half day

A coach from South Kensington at 7:30 AM, two hours at Stonehenge with your ticket, shuttle and exhibition included, and London again by mid-afternoon. It's the cheapest and shortest tour on this site, for people who want the stones and nothing else.

Stonehenge Half Day with Tickets

About this experience

Day Tours London keeps it simple. You meet outside the Lycée Français on Cromwell Road at 7:30 AM, the coach drives you to Stonehenge with a guide talking on the way, and you get 2 hours on site. Your ticket covers the stones, the shuttle bus and the exhibition and visitor centre. Then the coach takes you back to the same spot, about 6.5 hours after you left.

The listing is upfront that the inner circle is "not possible at standard hours". You walk the visitor path around the stones, about 5 metres away at its closest, like every day visitor. At the site you explore at your own pace with the English Heritage audio guide, which you download to your phone.

At $89 it's the cheapest tour on this site, and at 6.5 hours the shortest. With 795 reviews at 4.8, guests mostly praise the guides and the time at the stones. The trade-off is everything else: no Bath, no Lacock, and a long ride for one stop. If you want more for the day, the Stonehenge and Bath day adds an afternoon in Bath for about $26 more.

  • 2 hours at Stonehenge
  • Ticket, shuttle bus and exhibition included

What guests say

★★★★★

We were so grateful to have pick up and drop off transportation, also to have time to see the stones and to use the two hours how we best saw fit.

I enjoyed this tour as I did not want to spend a full day out of the city. This was just the right amount and our guide did a great job of giving us information and also letting us rest on our ride to and from Stonehenge.

A wonderful trip! Freya was an excellent guide. She gave us lots of information about both London and Stonehenge. Plenty of time to explore Stonehenge and the visitor center.

The half day tour was perfect - our guide Emily was extremely knowledgeable and a good sport - we spent enough time on the site and never felt rushed or uncomfortable in any way

Tips before you book

  • Use a café toilet near South Kensington station first: there's none at the bus stop.
  • Download the English Heritage audio guide at home and bring earphones.
  • Take an umbrella or a cheap poncho. A guest paid a lot for one at the gift shop.
  • Book the right age band. Children are 4 to 15, youths 16 to 17, seniors 65 and over.
  • Dress in layers. One guest bought a hoodie in the gift shop to warm up.
