Stonehenge ticket prices 2026

English Heritage prices Stonehenge by the day of the week and by how early you book. Here is what an adult pays this winter, and when a day tour from London is the better deal.

A Stonehenge ticket is not one price. English Heritage sets an off-peak rate for weekdays, a standard rate for weekends, a higher price on the day, and cheaper slots later in the afternoon.

All figures below come from English Heritage's own price list as of October 2026 and run from now to mid March 2027.

The quick answer

An adult ticket booked online costs £24.65 on an off-peak weekday and £27.03 at the weekend this winter. On the day you pay £29.00 and £31.80, so booking by midnight the day before saves about 15%. English Heritage and National Trust (England) members go free. Inside the stone circle is a separate Stone Circle Experience from £70, with no sessions in October or November.

How much is a Stonehenge ticket in winter 2026-27?

From £24.65 for an adult booked online on a weekday, up to £31.80 for an adult at the weekend bought on the day.

These are English Heritage's prices for the winter period to 16 March 2027, without the optional Gift Aid donation (English Heritage prices and opening times). The Gift Aid price adds a voluntary 10%: an off-peak adult becomes £27.20, a weekend adult £29.75.

Tickets are valid all day, so you can arrive at any time and stay until closing.

What are off-peak, standard and peak prices at Stonehenge?

Three price bands set by date. This winter, Monday to Friday is off-peak and Saturday and Sunday are standard.

English Heritage's calendar marks every weekday from 12 October 2026 to 14 March 2027 as off-peak and every weekend day as standard. The Christmas week is the exception: 24, 26 and 27 December are priced as standard, and so is New Year's Day.

Peak prices (£29.32 online, £34.50 on the day for an adult) exist on the price list, but no date in the winter calendar uses them. There is one more lever: the page says that if you book a visit later in the day, you can get cheaper tickets. For a relaxed afternoon at the stones, try a later slot first.

Weekday visits in winter fall in the cheapest price band.

Is it cheaper to book Stonehenge tickets online?

Yes. Booking online by midnight the day before saves about 15%: £4.35 per adult on a weekday, £4.77 at the weekend.

English Heritage puts it this way: "You can book online until midnight the day before your visit to get the discount. You can still buy a ticket on the day of your visit online or when you arrive, but you'll pay full price." It recommends booking ahead in any case.

Two groups go free. English Heritage members show their card, and National Trust (England) members get free entry by entering the code G03ANZ at checkout (English Heritage). Driving? Non-members pay a parking charge of £4 (English Heritage visitor questions).

Rather not juggle tickets and trains? This day includes the coach and lets you add Stonehenge entry.

What are Stonehenge's opening hours this winter?

09:30 to 17:00 every day, with last admission two hours before closing. Closed on Christmas Day only.

English Heritage lists 09:30 to 17:00 for every day from now to mid March 2027, including Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Christmas Day, Friday 25 December 2026, is the one closure. Opening times on the winter solstice, 22 December, are subject to change (English Heritage opening times).

How much does the Stone Circle Experience cost in 2026?

From £70 for adults and £40 for children aged 5 to 17, with under-5s free. It is the only ticket that takes you inside the circle.

The Stone Circle Experience is a guided hour inside the stones, early in the morning or in the evening, outside normal opening hours. Sessions hold up to 52 people, there are member discounts, and bookings run to March 2027. There are no sessions in October or November: see the inner circle in autumn 2026.

You have to reach Stonehenge at dawn or dusk yourself, and English Heritage names Salisbury, about 12 miles away, as the nearest station. Without a car, the simplest way to get that slot is the inner circle day from London, from $222.

On a Stone Circle Experience you walk among the sarsens, without touching them.

What does a day tour add to the ticket price?

Transport from London, a guide and other stops. On the cheaper tours the ticket is part of the price.

A weekday adult ticket is £24.65. The Stonehenge half day from $89 includes the ticket and the coach from South Kensington, back in about 6.5 hours, and it is the cheapest tour on this site. The Stonehenge and Bath day from $115 adds an afternoon in Bath, with Stonehenge entry as an option. Stonehenge and Avebury from $132 includes every entry fee.

Our view: if you travel alone or as a couple without a car, the tour is the better deal. A family of four with a car should book the family ticket and drive.
