Stonehenge inner circle tours compared

Three day trips from London on this site take you inside the stone circle: with Lacock and Bath, with Windsor, or after hours with Avebury. The others show you Stonehenge from the visitor path for less. Most of the price gap is the ticket at the stones.

Every tour below leaves from central London and runs a full or half day. The big difference is the ticket at Stonehenge: an English Heritage Stone Circle Experience outside opening hours, or a standard ticket on the visitor path.

Prices and ratings are Viator figures checked in October 2026. All cancel free up to 24 hours before except one: the Anderson after-hours tour is non-refundable.

Premium Tours: inner circle, Lacock and Bath

The inner circle at sunrise (5:30 AM departure) or sunset (10 AM), a guided walk in Lacock and a panoramic tour of Bath, from South Kensington.

It is about 10.5 hours, from $222. Roman Baths entry is only included with the upgrade option, food is at your own expense, and confirmation can take up to 48 hours. It is a shared coach tour of up to 51 travelers, not a private one. Read what the private viewing really is.

The inner circle paired with Windsor, with Windsor Castle entry as an option, from 258 Vauxhall Bridge Road and ending at Victoria.

About 11 hours, from $255, with instant confirmation, personal audio headsets and a coach with wifi and USB chargers; maximum 51 travelers. The itinerary lists 1 hour 30 minutes at Stonehenge and 3 hours at Windsor. It is the only inner circle tour here listed as wheelchair accessible (contact the operator at least seven days before). One guest noted the early start: "It may seem like 515 is early".

Anderson Tours: after hours with Avebury

An evening visit inside the stones after a day at the Avebury stone circle and West Kennet Long Barrow, from Earl's Court.

About 11 hours, from $209, with a maximum of 30 travelers and Stonehenge admission included. It meets at 10 AM (September, March to May) or 12 noon (June to August). The catch: it is non-refundable and cannot be changed, and minimum numbers apply, so it can be cancelled with an alternative or refund offered. One guest warned of "a long walk up an incline" to the long barrow.

Is a standard Stonehenge tour enough?

If you only want to see and photograph the stones, yes: the visitor path comes to about 5 metres away, for about half the price.

The Stonehenge and Bath day ($115) offers Stonehenge and Roman Baths entry as options and leaves you time to explore Bath on your own. The half day ($89) takes about 6.5 hours and states that the inner circle is not possible at standard hours. The Stonehenge and Avebury day ($132) includes all entry fees, with a maximum of 25 travelers.

Happy with the view from the path? Stonehenge and Bath costs about half the inner circle price.

What about the small-group Bath, Lacock and Stonehenge day?

It follows a similar route in an executive mini-coach and includes Roman Baths entry, but you see Stonehenge from the path, not inside.

It departs the Cumberland Hotel at Marble Arch at 7:30 AM and ends at Victoria around 6:30 PM, from $251, with guided walks in Lacock and Avebury. See Lacock village for what you see there.

Both the flagship and the small-group day include a guided walk in Lacock.

What if your dates fall in October or November?

No inner circle tour runs then, so book a standard day and see the stones from the path.

The Windsor, Lacock and Bath day ($96, 12.5 hours) covers Windsor, a pub lunch in Lacock with the lunch option and Bath, with Stonehenge entry as an add-on; Roman Baths admission is excluded. Rabbie's Bath, Avebury and Lacock day ($118) skips Stonehenge entirely.

Autumn trip? This long day covers Windsor, Lacock and Bath with Stonehenge as an option.
